Taste of Mississippi 2020 Important Update

Stewpot is saddened to announce that this year’s Blue Cross & Blue Shield Taste of Mississippi event, scheduled for April 6 at the Historic Ice House venue, has been canceled. As Stewpot’s largest annual fundraiser, this event far exceeds the advised limits from the CDC for social gatherings. We regret missing the opportunity to showcase our many wonderful Mississippi chefs and restaurants and their commitment to hunger relief. During this time, we hope that you will do what you can to support them

The great news is that, during this crisis, Stewpot is still operating. We are still providing essential services, like food, clothing, and shelter to our neighbors in need, using all the safety protocols recommended to us by the Mississippi State Department of Health and the CDC.

Your financial support is more important than ever to keep that work going. By many accounts, people experiencing homelessness and people living in poverty are among the most vulnerable in a crisis like this, because they have less access to the basic resources necessary for survival. Thankfully, support like yours means we can keep our doors open, providing a place for people to wash their hands and their clothes, get a shower, get groceries, and get a good meal to go. We couldn’t do it without you.

We look forward to next year’s Taste of Mississippi event when we can celebrate the work we are doing together to address hunger and homelessness in our community. Meanwhile, take care of one another and stay safe.
